The time is quickly approaching when bail agents will be able to fulfill their continuing education requirements at their leisure, from their offices. However we need to remain vigilant to insure that the bill will be signed into law by Governor Schwarzenegger.

We recently commissioned a study on the effectiveness of bail in California by Professor Block of the University of Arizona. This study confirms the California bail industry’s critical role in promoting public safety, a role which has been overlooked by some law enforcement officials. This study gives us the evidence we need to educate the criminal justice system and to promote the bail industry in this state. You can view a copy of the study’s executive summary here.

We have retained the services of Lynch & Associates to mount a full court press in Sacramento to monitor and lobby issues related to bail. Kathy Lynch’s efforts were invaluable in the success of our legislative program including the defeat of SB 1744 and passage of AB 404.
